Happy New Hiking Year!
Hope everyone enjoyed a festive holiday season. Following a pleasant holiday hiatus, PCT: Oregon is coming back online—with big plans to help you get out and enjoy your 2017 hiking adventures. Doubtless, many of you have probably made a resolution or two about hiking the Pacific Crest Trail—either in whole or part. Here are a couple of quick suggestions to help you start preparing:
- Pick up your new copies of Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail: Oregon and Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail: Washington. These two new Mountaineers Books guides are the most comprehensive and up-to-date trail guides available for helping you plan for and hike the PCT.
- Bookmark PCT: Oregon for updated news, information and resources for even more assistance in planning your PCT adventures. We’ll be adding new directories for Oregon Trail Angels and Gear Shops, as well as continuing Trail Talk columns, gear reviews and helpful feature articles.
- Follow PCT: Oregon on Facebook and Twitter for news updates, conditions reports and other tidbits of fun and helpful info on the Pacific Crest Trail. We’ll also be promoting some fun events where you can meet the authors of the PCT guides, and we’ll have some sweet gear to give away.
Continue to watch for new and updated resources to help you get ready to hit the trail. Later this spring, the conditions update pages will be coming back with the latest news on weather, trail and other Oregon wilderness info to help keep you in the know.
